    Our Associate

    Mr. K C Girotra

    Mr. K C Girotra has over 40 years of industry experience and retired as Vice President at Tata Motors. He served for over 26 years at Tata Motors in the areas of Manufacturing, Sourcing, New Product Development, Process Re-engineering, Business Excellence and as a Plant Head. He also serves on the Board of Tata Group companies.


    Mr. Girotra started his career with Walchandnagar Industries and was heading its Nuclear and Space equipment division. Some of the memorable work includes development and delivering India’s first Satellite Launch Vehicle along with late Mr. A P J Abdul Kalam of ISRO (who later became the President of India). For the last ten years Mr. Girotra is working as a consultant delivering on strategy and Operations Excellence across various industries and geographies.


    Mr. Girotra completed his BE (Mech) from BVM, Anand Gujarat and M.E. (Production) from VJTI, Mumbai and attended several programmes including Leadership Development Programmes at IMD, Switzerland and by Harvard Business School for Tata executives.

    Ashok Kurup

    Ashok Kurup is an experienced Quality Management and Six Sigma Consultant based in Mumbai. He has over 20 years of rich experience in leading Quality Management, Six Sigma, Lean, Organizational Excellence, Operations Management and Customer Service Management programs across various organizations. Ashok has been associated with reputed organizations like Nielsen, Fullerton India, DCB Bank, KPMG, Citigroup Global Services in India.


    After completing Six Sigma Black Belt training in 2001 from Multiface Inc., US, he facilitated and completed multiple improvement projects across BPOs and financial services sectors.


    In addition, as a Master Black Belt, Ashok complemented the improvement programs with Ideation, Process Quality Assessment and Quality Awareness programs. Further, he has implemented Baldrige Award self-assessment, Balanced Scorecard design and ISO 9000 certification initiatives.


    Ashok is a Machine Tool Engineer from the University of Bombay and has completed his post-graduation in Business Management from Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai.

    Chirag Patel

    Chirag started his career with ANZ Grindlays and Commerzbank prior to working in the advisory business. He has over 16 years experience having worked, delivered and project managed assignments across Corporate and Retail Banking, Insurance, Private Equity, Financial Services, Retail and Manufacturing domains. He has worked on development and implementation of Strategy, Corporate Restructuring, Business Process Re-engineering, Performance Management and Balanced Scorecard assignments. He has successfully delivered these engagements across different geographies including UAE, Hong Kong, South Africa and India.


    Chirag has worked extensively in Banking, Insurance and Financial Services sectors across various geographies. In his previous stint in Strategy domain, Chirag has worked with Cedar Consulting and was heading the strategy function in Future Group.

    Pooja Bal

    Pooja has work experience in the areas of strategy formulation and execution, performance management, business process redesign, operating model and structure redesign, customer experience management and human capital management. She has diverse industry exposure, predominantly in the emerging markets of Asia and Africa, and has led projects in Banking, IT, Real Estate, Manufacturing, Media, Healthcare and Government sectors.

    Prior to Upohan, she worked as the Sr. Advisory Consultant – Strategy and Transformation Practice at IBM where she delivered complex multi-cultural transformation programs focusing on digital innovations. She has also worked as an Enterprise Transformation Consultant with Nihilent, a global consulting and solutions integration company, where she delivered thought leadership projects in the areas of change management and customer loyalty evaluation. A project led by Pooja at Banking Association South Africa is a case study at WITS Business School, South Africa.

    Pooja is a certified Balanced Scorecard Practitioner awarded by Palladium Group. She was a visiting faculty for management development programs conducted by Tata Management Training Center. She is also regularly invited by multiple B-schools to conduct lectures in the area of Strategic Management.

    Advait Kurlekar has over 23 years of valuable experience in industry and management consulting, having worked in leading organizations like Tata Motors, AF Ferguson, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Cedar Consulting. Prior to founding Upohan, he was heading KP Consulting as part of the Kirtane & Pandit Group based in Pune.

    Advait has expertise in the areas of Business Strategy, Balanced Scorecard and HR consulting. He has directed over 350 BSC development projects for a variety of clients in India and abroad.  Advait has led consulting projects across a range of sectors including BFSI, engineering, automotive, retail, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, hospitality, media and advertising, etc. He has handled assignments in Singapore, Hong Kong, Middle East, West Asia, South Africa, North Africa, UK, France and Germany. He is regularly invited to speak at national and international business conferences. Advait is a visiting faculty at SP Jain Global Center of Management and Great Lakes, Chennai. He is also a charter member of TiE’s Pune chapter and has done an Advanced Management Program from the Wharton Business School.

    Eklavya Malhotra has been a part of Upohan since its inception. His consulting experience is coupled with industry exposure garnered during his post-MBA stint with India’s leading retailer, Future Group, where he played a key role in various operations-related projects across the group’s diverse retail ventures.

    Over the last seven years, Eklavya has been involved in consulting engagements across Upohan’s bouquet of service offering ranging from strategy articulation and execution using Balanced Scorecard, business process improvement to development of HR systems and processes. The diverse and integrated consulting experience gives him a holistic approach to provide implementable insights and impactful solutions to client challenges.

    Eklavya has worked with clients in India, Middle East, West Africa and the Far East across a wide cross-section of sectors including Manufacturing, Automotive, BFSI, Media, Retail, FMCG, IT and diversified business groups.

  • Saurabh is a management graduate with core expertise in market research and data analytics using business intelligence tools like Tableau. With rich experience in business research, in-depth interviews and consumer insights, Saurabh’s special area of interest is industrial market research. In his preceding role, Saurabh was working with Videocon Industries at their corporate headquarters where he overlooked research for consumer electronics and durables. He has garnered accolades and commendations for his perspicacious inputs into consumer insights and new product development at Videocon.

    Saurabh has multi-cultural consulting delivery exposure across India and overseas on projects ranging from market entry strategy, business strategy validation and implementation, data mining, and operational transformations. Saurabh has worked closely with a multitude of clients spread across industries like manufacturing, jewellery retail, telecom, media and diversified business groups as well, with the automotive sector being closest to his heart.

  • Sarika joined Upohan post completion of her BA in Business and Management from University of Exeter, UK, followed by MSc. Management from the University College, London. Armed with a specialization in Finance, she has gained valuable experience in financial modelling and capital market analysis through internships with global luminaries like Deloitte and Colliers International.

    Sarika has honed her market research skills at Upohan and is proficient in delivering incisive competitive and industry analysis which have contributed to fine-tuning clients’ strategic plans. Her earlier stints with industry leaders like Paranjape Schemes and Kirloskar Brothers have lent her a deep understanding and appreciation of business dynamics and organizational behaviour which has equipped her to render bespoke consulting solutions across Upohan’s service lines. Within a relatively short span of time, Sarika has consulted in sectors as varied as manufacturing, education and automotive.

  • Roshni is a Management Graduate with core experience in HR. She comes with around 9 years of corporate experience in HR and Learning & Development with a Swedish MNC. Her core experience is in the area of Organization Development Business Interventions, Designing & deploying learning interventions for Individual Contributors and Managers, Managing the complete Employee Life Cycle, Process ownership of key HR/ Talent Management Processes like Performance Management, GET MT Recruitment and Induction, Competency Management etc

    She is currently working in the space of HR Consulting and Learning & Development for Small and Medium Enterprises as well as large Organizations. She works with clients for provide consulting and supporting the Entrepreneur/ HR team in setting up HR processes and policies covering the complete Employee Management cycle, Designing and implementing people processes/ systems that would support in achieving business results through enhanced employee performance.
